GTA 5's rating just said 'sex.' GTA 6's says 'sex scenes,' specifically. Somebody in Rockstar's writers room clearly had a moment.

Grand Theft Auto VI has received an official Mature 17+ rating from the ESRB in the United States and a PEGI 18 rating in Europe, with regional PlayStation Store listings in Australia and New Zealand going further by explicitly naming 'Sex Scenes' as a content descriptor, according to GTA BOOM and GHacks. The wording marks a shift from Grand Theft Auto V's Australian rating, which listed only 'Sex' despite the earlier game containing scripted sexual content. US listings use the phrase 'Strong Sexual Content' instead. The ESRB has not yet published its longer rating summary, and a store rating is not confirmation the game has gone gold ahead of its November 19, 2026 release.
