The Man Who Leaked GTA 6 Is Heading to Trial the Same Month It Finally Launches
Talk about a plot twist Rockstar didn't write. The hacker who leaked GTA6 to the world in 2022 goes to trial in November - the exact same month the game finally ships.
Arion Kurtaj, the hacker behind the September 2022 leak of over 90 Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay clips and the game's source code, has been moved from a secure hospital to a standard prison ahead of a retrial scheduled for November 2026, according to BBC correspondent Joe Tidy. Kurtaj, a member of the Lapsus$ hacking group, was previously deemed unfit for trial in 2023 due to a severe autism diagnosis. Rockstar previously said the leak cost the company roughly $5 million and thousands of staff hours.
